KwaZulu-Natal has hundreds of parks, centering on diverse African wildlife.
One of the most expensive parks ever built in Africa is the uShaka Marine World park in Durban. It is a complex theme park that incorporates fresh and sea water elements into one grand amusement spectacle. It's most popular feature is the Sea World. a gigantic salt water aquarium showcasing the sophisticated diversity of South African marine wildlife. Sea World presents sea animal displays, shows, and exhibits, and provides family fun activities like diving and snorkelling. It also has program venues that include a 1200-seater dolphin stadium, a penguin stadium, and a seal stadium.
KwaZulu-Natal is also home of various crocodile farms and parks. Crocodiles are one of the enduring symbols of great African wildlife. These endangered silent-but-deadly creatures abound in the province and are being preserved by wildlife organizations. Some of the famous parks are the Crocodile Centre in St Lucia, PheZulu, in the Valley of 1000 Hills in Durban, Croc Valley Nature Reserve in Umhlali, Dolphin Coast, Croc World in Scottburgh in South Coast and Crocodile Creek in Ballito area in Dolphin Coast.
Aside from crocodiles, crocodile farms also raise snakes and other species of reptiles. KwaZulu-Natal is in fact known for its Fitzsimons Snake Park located in Golden Mile in Duban. This snake park is a top tourist destination in the province, presenting to guests shows and exhibits of one of world's scariest animals. The park also serves as a study center wherein animal professionals collect venom to produce antidote to snake bites, as well as conduct animal researches and observations.
